Rachel Kara Pérez is a multidisciplinary artist and educator who is passionate about exploring the intersections between the arts and social justice. A Latin Grammy-nominated singer, theatre artist, mover, and poet, she has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Out Of Doors, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and The Apollo Theater, among others. As an Arts Educator and Facilitator, she has been involved with a number of organizations using theatre, music, and dance to educate and uplift immigrant and refugee youth, and is a recipient of the Innovative Cultural Advocacy Fellowship from The Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI) and the Jennifer Saltzstein Kaffenberger Fellowship from Artists Striving To End Poverty (ASTEP) for her work with Unaccompanied Minors.
