Winters is Grammy-nominated for her work on NBC Live Jesus Christ Superstar with EGOT recipient John Legend. A Broadway veteran, she’s been seen in Motown the MusicalPippin, and “working it” as the Schuyler Sisters in Hamilton. Today, Winters is back on Broadway in the role that made her a Broadway baby: Nala in Disney’s The Lion King.

Inspired by the art of storytelling, Winters’ latest writing project celebrates the life of American icon Lena Horne in a one-woman play with music, entitled LENA: A Moment with a Lady. Through words and music, Lena, portrayed by Winters, attempts to relate the most pivotal personal and professional moments in her life. On a mission to share the truth, she unexpectedly opens the emotional crevices that have eluded her for years.
